Last year I decided I needed a new hobby and when I was given a sewing machine by an amazing friend/coworker I decided to give quilting a try.  So far I have one completed and two in the works.  I have learned a tremendous amount about all things quilting this past year but am always looking for helpful tips and tricks.  This blog will be a chronicle of my adventures in the sewing world and will of course include pictures of my little helpers, my cats. 

My first quilt was a throw for my living room.  I love the way it turned out but there were many challenges and was very frustrating at times.  Once I saw the finished product though, I was hooked!  I am currently working on a red, white and blue full size quilt.  The pattern is very stripy and I thought it would be perfect for my patriot quilt.  I have put this one on hold though so I can make a baby blanket for a friend.  She doesn’t know that I am making it but her husband informed me of the nursery colors and theme so I hope she likes it.
